FAQ's
DEFINITIONS: As used herein, the
"Software" includes all copies of the version of the DriveWizard or
DriveBackup computer program included on the CD or downloaded online
together with any related documentation and the backup disk or end
any products created by DriveWizard/Drivebackup (i.e.., new disk
created using your source disk or creating backup disk of the new
backup disk etc... are called as end products.)
OUR FIRST REQUEST FOR ALL OUR
USERS IS TO SAVE YOUR OLD HARD DRIVE (DO NOT FORMAT OR THROW AWAY OR
DELETE ANY DATA) ATLEAST UNTIL YOU ACTIVATE OUR PROGRAM. AFTER
DOWNLOADING THE TRIAL VERSION.

THE FAQs. There are honest users and there are some dishonest users.
In simple words CompuApps likes to get paid for the work done by
CompuApps from users who choose to use our solutions, that will help
us develop the most reliable product also to provide new cost effect
solutions. When users try to get away they ask us lots of questions,
we have complied such frequently asked questions below.
Is DriveWizard/DriveBackup is a
free program?
No, DriveWizard or DriveBackup is
not a free program. End products or the results of the program will
not be useable after 30 day trial period. If license is not
purchased.
Do I need activation key to use
trial version?
No. When the activation dialog is
displayed, click on "Continue" button and start DriveWizard/
DriveBackup program.
What is the duration of the
trial period?
CompuApps products have a 30 day
trial period from the date of installation. If the date is less then
the installation date or above 30 days of installation it will stop
working.
What is the
difference between Trial version and full version?
Trial and full versions have same
functions. The trial software and backup/new disk or in any hard
drives created using the backup/new hard drive will only for 30
days, unless the software is activated. Once activated all the
messages will disappear.
Are any of the functions
disabled in the trial version of DriveWizard/ DriveBackup?
No, It is a fully functional trial version. No
functions or features are disabled.
What will
happen to my old and new hard drives after the trial version gets
expired?
Your old hard drive will be
intact.
Your new drive will be locked; no
software will run from it. If it is a boot disk the system will
automatically restart a short time after boot up. No data on the
disk will be harmed. Upon activation all functionality will be
restored. Make sure to purchase a license before the time period is
up.
I would like to
Clone(Mirror)/Upgrade/Backup/Restore my hard drive using
DriveBackup/ DriveWizard but I don't want to buy a license. What
will happen to my old and new hard drives? Can I use DriveWizard/
DriveBackup program for free?
No, DriveWizard/ DriveBackup is not free
software. If you decide not to buy a license, but continue using
DriveWizard software, it will stop working after 30 days in your new
hard drive. Nothing will happen to your old hard drive. You can
activate DriveWizard program at any time, even after 30 days.
Does DriveWizard/DriveBackup
program inform the user that the destination will not be usable
after 30days?
Yes, at the time of installation it will give a
warning message to the user that if a license is not bought,
DriveWizard program will not allow use of the destination hard
drive. Additional information is provided in Activation dialog and
Help of activation dialog.
Can I delete my old hard
drive after upgrade/Mirror (Clone) to a new hard drive?
No, we don't advise users to delete data from old
hard drive until user checks the new hard drive is boot-able and the
program is activated.
I am using the trial version of
DriveWizard/ DriveBackup software. I have made a backup disk after
checking the new disk is boot-able. I deleted data on my old disk or
it died. Can CompuApps help make the new hard drive work without
purchasing a license?
No. It is not possible. It is like using
DriveWizard/ DriveBackup program as a data mover, similar to moving
from your old home to a new home. After the data moving is done and
you are satisfied with your new home (new disk), you need to pay the
license fee as described by CompuApps.
Is DriveWizard/ DriveBackup is
a fully functional software? If yes, why does it block my new disk?
A fully functional trial software allows you to
use all the functions that can be performed by a full, professional
version. Since it is a full version, users can use the software and
get satisfied first before they decide to buy our software.
CompuApps would like the user to pay the fee for the software.
I created a new hard drive from
my original disk. I formated orginal disk and then copied back all
data from new disk back to my orginal disk or I just copy all the
data back to my orginal disk (Restore). What will happen to my
orginal disk?
Only you orginal hard drive will work after 30
days if data has not been restored. New hard drive or any hard drive
created using that the new hard drive will stop working after 30
days.
I created a new disk using
DriveWizard/DriveBackup? I found 5 files are missing. I copied those
files using some other program. Do I have to buy the program even
though it did not copy all the files and why did your program failed
to copy those files?
The file could have missed because of truncated
files or bad sectors. You can run ScanDisk and fix all the errors in
the original hard drive. If you dont want to buy this program
because of not coping all the files. You have format the new disk
and move all the data using a different program. Don't copy some
files using our program and some files using other program.
DriveWizard/ DriveBackup
software does not work with my system. What should I do?
You can contact CompuApps customer/technical
support at support@compuapps.com with your issue. CompuApps will
help users solve their issue. After the issue has been resolved the
user can buy a license from CompuApps.
How can I get my new disk for
my use, if I dont wish to buy the software?
You can format your new disk and then you can use
your new disk for any use.
I have some data in the new
disk? Before I format the disk how can I copy all my data?
You can boot in a floppy disk or you connect you
disk as a slave disk to an another bootable disk and you can copy
all the data to a different disk. All you data will be safe in the
new disk. DriveWizard nor DriveBackup will change or modify any
data.
What is your refund
policy?
We were one of the software vendor to offer
refunds. We believed it was fair to refund customers if the program
doesn't work.
However, we were surprised to see that there were
people who would be dishonest enough to take advantage of this.
Therefore we have now made our refund policy stricter. Customers
should have tried the free trial software. It's free and its
behavior is identical to the full version. If the demo doesn't work
for you, the full version will not work either. We don't offer
refunds once the software is activated.

What is the time period
that CompuApps will reply my emails?
CompuApps works very hard to solve all users
issues. We try to reply back within 24 hours?
